At the Accessible and Immersive Reality (AIR) Lab, our research vision is “To understand human abilities and develop innovative technologies and methods that enable, empower, and enhance human experiences and capabilities.”

Our core research focuses on “Immersive Accessibility” in which we explore the accessibility aspects of immersive technologies (Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) and Multisensory such as haptics technologies). As such, our research agenda explores Immersive Accessibility research under two main themes: (1) Making Immersive Technologies Accessible (2) Using Immersive Technologies for Accessibility Applications. In addition, in a third theme (3) Understanding, Augmenting and Enhancing the Human, explores other broader HCI related topics beyond Immersive Accessibility such as wearable devices, HCI and other accessibility and immersive technology.
